On August 26, KUMU streamer-influencer Anna Coting discussed the struggle she experienced when starting her career as a streamer.
At the Diamond Gala event for Kumu’s 5th anniversary, which LionhearTV covered, Coting noted that some didn’t believe in her when she pursued her career.
“Medyo sa una po talaga mahirap siya kasi hindi naman lahat ng tao susuportahan ka sa gusto mo. And then ayun lang po, gawin mo lang talaga ng maigi ‘yung lahat ng gusto mo sa buhay. Kasi, dadaan din ‘yung panahon na magiging proud din sila sayo.”
She then recounted how she began her journey as an influencer.
“Nag-start po ako kasi may karinderia po kami before. And then ‘yung karinderia na ‘yun parang ginagawa ko po siya ng content which is iba’t ibang klase ng customer. So doon po talaga ako nag-simula.”
She then reacted to netizens’ response to her content online.
“Sobrang saya po kasi alam ko ‘yung feeling na kahit saan ka pumunta, medyo may nakakakilala, kahit pakaunti-unti.”
She also appreciated how celebrities like Jodi Sta Maria, Yeng Constantino, Sanya Lopez, and Barbie Forteza reacted to her content.
“Sobrang napaka-overwhelming po sa akin kasi alam mo po ‘yun, lagi ko lang sila napapanood sa TV tapos ‘yung sounds ko na po pala ‘yung gagamitin nila.”
As for handling bashers, Coting admitted that they affected her initially, but she used their comments as motivation.
“Minsan naiiyak po talaga ako kasi hindi naman po– lagi ko po sinasabi na, ‘Ay wag mong pansinin ‘yan.’ Pero, lagi po talagang pumapasok sa isip ko na ay hindi bakit niya kaya nasabi ‘yun.Â
“Parang ginagawa ko pong motivation ‘yung sinasabi nila na, ‘No hindi ako ganito, ipapakita ko sa kanila na mali ‘yung impression nila sa akin.Â
“Jinudge nila agad ako.’ So parang sa akin po, kahit masakit, parang don’t mind them na lang talaga, kasi kahit tama o mali man ‘yung ginagawa mo, may masasabi at masasabi pa rin yung mga tao.”
As for the event, KUMUnity influencers came together to celebrate KUMU’s 5th anniversary at the ‘Diamond Gala.’
The grand event brought together some of the most prominent influencers on the social entertainment app to commemorate the milestone.
Held at the Shangri-La Fort, the glitz-and-glamour-filled night had influencers in their blue-carpet-ready attire to celebrate KUMU’s journey for the past five years.
