Actress Andrea Brillantes has responded to comments regarding her recent “Date or Pass” vlog, where she openly expressed her interest in dating Jakob Poturnak, the son of Ina Raymundo.
Andrea clarified that her vlog was meant for entertainment purposes and should not be taken too seriously.
However, she firmly asserted that even if she had been serious about her intentions, there was nothing inappropriate about a woman taking the initiative in dating. In her perspective, making the first move does not equate to being flirtatious.
“Even if I was being serious about it, I don’t think I should be getting any hate for it. I don’t think a woman should be getting any hate for making the first move. For me, that’s not being malandi at all,” Andrea stated in a TikTok video.
She expressed her disagreement with the idea that a woman should face harsh criticism or negative comments for showing courage in expressing interest in someone.
“I’m in my 20s. I own a business. I have a nice career, I pay my bills and taxes, so, why need to hate where I just want to have fun.
“May nasira ba akong three month rule? Wala nga, eh. Ano ba kayo date lang nga, ‘di nga jojowain eh. Titigil ba mundo n’yo?”
Andrea Brillantes admitted feeling regretful about her “Date or Pass” content, believing it to be quite ordinary compared to her other vlogs. She emphasized the importance of empowering women to take the lead in romantic pursuits without encountering backlash.
The actress, who had previously been in a relationship with basketball player Ricci Rivero, is now navigating the complexities of singlehood while continuing to excel in her career.
