Television host and comedian Wally Bayola has publicly apologized for an incident that occurred on August 10, involving the use of profanity during a live broadcast on television.
The incident took place during the airing of the “Sugod Bahay Mga Kapatid” segment of the popular entertainment show “EAT,” in which Bayola is one of the hosts.
Bayola expressed his regrets and offered his apology during a heartfelt statement on TV5’s noontime show “EAT.” He acknowledged the responsibilities that come with being a public figure and emphasized his commitment to maintaining professionalism.
The incident occurred during an unscripted moment on the show and led to the unintended use of profanity being broadcasted to the viewing audience.

Bayola’s co-host, Jose Manalo, provided context for the incident and stressed the importance of addressing and rectifying such situations. He emphasized the significance of humility and understanding, whether such actions are intentional or not.
Visibly emotional, Bayola spoke directly into the camera, admitting his mistake and expressing his sincere apologies. He said, “Ako po ay may nabitawang salita na hindi ko po dapat sinasabi. Nagkamali po ako doon at ako po ay humihingi ng inyong paumanhin at pag-unawa ninyong lahat,” Bayola said, apologizing as well to fellow hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. “Pasensya na po, pasensya na po sa lahat.”
Bayola underscored his deep regret for any offense caused, particularly to the viewers who were caught off guard by the incident.
Jose Manalo further emphasized the importance of seeking forgiveness and humility, highlighting that it is better to resolve issues amicably. He stated, “Mas maganda ‘yung gano’n ‘yung hindi tayo nagmamatigasan… Ang importante ay humingi tayo ng kapatawaran,” Manalo added. “Muli po, nandito po kami para humingi ng dispensa sa inyo at makakaasa po kayo na hindi na po mauulit ang mga bagay na ito.”
After the statements of Manalo and Bayola, another host, Vic Sotto, shared his perspective: “Ang mahalaga, kapag alam nating nagkakamali ay itinatama natin agad.”

This incident follows an earlier controversy involving Manalo and his joke about fellow host, Nigerian internet personality Tugue Zombie. While some criticized the joke as racist, Tugue defended the situation on his Facebook page, urging people to focus on their own matters.
Meanwhile, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has already summoned the entertainment show “EAT” after this incident involving the use of profanity during a live broadcast.
