The Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Superstar reminded the public once again, of a very important unwritten rule: “Never out anyone in public, without their consent”.
A light moment, which many won’t take too seriously, readily, took place during the Rampanalo segment of It’s Showtime, last August 29. During the said episode, a male contestant happened to have the same name as one of the ex-boyfriend of the segment hosts, MC Muah Calaquian. Vice Ganda, who immediately recognized the name of the contestant, teased his co-host about the similarity of the player’s name to MC’s ex-boyfriend’s.
“Ayyy! Di ba may jowa kang [ganyan ang pangalan]? Di mo pa siya nayakap!” said Vice, prompting MC to share hugs with the contestant.
MC then said to the player, ”Kapatid ka ba namin?”, indirectly asking if he was a member a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well.
As a response to the question, the player hand-signaled to say he is not.
Vice Ganda, who obviously saw the awkwardness made by the question, quickly tried to steer away from the moment and told MC, “magkakapatid naman tayong lahat dito, ano ka ba?”.
He then lightly scolded his co-host for asking the question on national TV.
“Ano ba ‘yang tanong mo, on national television? Wag ganon, magpaalam ka muna!” the superstar comedian and TV host reminded Calaquian.
MC Calaquian and his partner, Lassy, has been taking taking turns in being one of Vice Ganda’s co-host’s of the segments. Many netizens believe that the newbie tandem, which Vice Ganda seems to have been training for bigger roles in the show, in the future, will eventually learn how to navigate their new roles as It’s Showtime hosts, more easily and responsibly.
