Even though the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the producers of the noontime show “It’s Showtime,” the lively and cheerful Unkabogable Star, Vice Ganda, still opened the hosting on Tuesday, August 1.
In the “Rampanalo” segment, together with guest Kapuso star Bianca Umali, Vice Ganda was seen lightening the mood with jokes, even though there were pending issues with the MTRCB.
The first issue was the “wardrobe malfunction” of Regine Tolentino and the alleged “indecent acts” of Vice Ganda and partner-co-host Ion Perez.
During the “Isip Bata” segment itself, Vice playfully expressed that he almost wanted to forget the segment after Vhong Navarro teased him about forgetting the steps of their opening dance.
As the contestants gathered from a place in Quiapo entered, one lady was interviewed by the hosts about why she was happy.
Vice teased her, saying she seems to be someone who sings “Ako’y Tahimik Lang Sa Umpisa…” from Toni Fowler’s song.
“Masaya po ako sa buhay kasi kuntento po ako,” she said.
Vhong asked if she was married.
“Yes meron po! Kagabi lang, nag-chorva kami…” she replied.
The change in Vice Ganda’s facial expression was evident.
But the contestant quickly added, “Kumain sa labas…”
“Yessssss!!!! Ate konting kalma ha, may issue pa kami,” the comedian promptly retorted.
“Ay! Sorry na po,” the contestant apologized.
The hosts then looked for another person to interview.
“Sa iba muna tayo kumausap, dito muna sa mas mukhang tahimik,” the Unkabogable Star turned to another woman.
The MTRCB announced on Monday, July 31, that they have summoned the show’s producers to explain the complained scenes of Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in the “Isip Bata” segment, which social media personality Rendon Labador had criticized.
