Vic Sotto believes that one can serve the public without getting involved in politics, which is why he never considered entering politics himself.
Kim Chiu had a unique opportunity to interview veteran comedian Vic Sotto in her latest vlog. The hosts of rival noontime programs engaged in a wide-ranging discussion and played the timeless game of truth or dare.
Topics covered in the interview included politics, personal life, and experiences in the entertainment industry. Chiu asked Sotto if he had ever considered running for public office, to which he responded, “Hindi,” explaining that while his brother Tito Sen and one of his children are in politics, he prefers to stay out of it.
He explained that even though some of his family members are in politics, he has always been content with being a supporter, campaigner, and a friend to politicians.
“Sa akin naman, pwede ka namang maging public servant na hindi ka namumulitika. Never kong in-entertain. Okay na akong ‘ra ra boys’ lang, alalay lang, tagakampanya lang,” he added.
Sotto emphasized that he prefers not to engage in the political arena but rather play a supportive role in campaigns and public service.
Sotto declined to reveal the exact amount of his earnings, stating that he lives comfortably and that his income has increased over the years to keep up with the rising cost of living.
Regarding the most valuable present he has ever given his wife, Pauline Luna, Sotto mentioned that it’s his unwavering and unconditional love.
As the interview shifted to a deeper level, Sotto shared the valuable lesson he wants his daughter Tali to learn from him, which is patience. He stressed the importance of being patient in life, as not everything we desire is granted immediately. Sotto expressed his hope that Tali will develop this virtue, despite her current impatience.
