AirAsia Philippines shares some important tips for local and foreign travelers, especially now that -Ber months officially start next week.

With an expected influx of travelers arriving and departing this season, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline rolls out the best hacks to ensure a seamless and hassle-free travel experience.

For AirAsia Philippines Head for Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan, “At AirAsia, making sure every guest enjoys a safe, on time, and affordable flight is our top priority and this extends to their belongings aboard our aircraft as well. As part of our efforts to enhance our customers’ peace of mind during their travels, we also aim to provide some useful tips to help each customer better prepare for their flight in order to ensure their baggage is well-cared for.”

Safeguard your baggage–and peace of mind–with these top tips when preparing for your next flight!

Best for your carry on

Valuables such as money and jewelry should always be kept close. These items are not only susceptible to damage but can sometimes also attract unwanted attention–so keep the bling on board and add these to your carry-on!

Important papers like your passport, travel documents, boarding passes, and IDs are also best kept in your hand carry. Losing these items can lead to disruptions to your journey, or worse identity theft. Keep them within arm’s reach always.

Electronics and gadgets like laptops, tablets, and cameras should also be placed in your hand carry. Don’t forget they have delicate and often fragile components.

Medications such as prescription medicines, medical devices, and any other health-related items should also be kept in your hand luggage. It’s essential to have immediate access to these in case of emergencies and to ensure your well-being.

Bear in mind, when flying with AirAsia, all guests (except infants) are allowed to carry on board two pieces of cabin baggage, the total weight of both pieces must not exceed 7kg.

The journey of your check-in baggage

For larger, more cumbersome baggage, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline offers passengers a flexible check-in allowance: get up to 60kg with no limit on the number of bags checked in.

Once checked-in baggage is accepted by the red-and-white counters, it is turned over to the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) for added security inspections. While these are essential, guests should keep in mind that baggage may be opened and inspected by the OTS before being cleared to fly.

Prohibited items are commonly returned to the check-in counters which may sometimes cause delays. To ensure a safe and hassle-free trip, avoid bringing any of the following in your check-in baggage: Corrosive substances such as flammable and hazardous materials, mechanical tools, explosives, and the like. Additionally, batteries and power banks are also strictly prohibited from being stored inside check-in baggage and should be kept in your carry-on.

According to the OTS, a number of prohibited items seized in airports include live bullets and “non-live” bullets such as those kept as amulets or gifts—guests should avoid bringing such souvenirs as well.

After passing this last checkpoint, AirAsia’s Allstar ramp agents take over to load the baggage safely on the aircraft. For any discrepancies or damage encountered with check-in baggage, guests are reminded to raise it immediately with ground staff or customer service counters in your airport of destination.

Snag 2 Million airasia Points when booking add-ons

Want even more convenience? The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline offers additional baggage options starting from PHP 690 on domestic flights and PHP 1470 on international flights.

AirAsia Philippines also turns up the heat with an exciting promo that allows travelers to win up to 500,000 airasia points for flight and hotel bookings when they book flight add-ons. A total of 2 million airasia points will be given away: 1 winner of 500,000 airasia points, 2 winners of 200,000 airasia points, and 3 winners of 100,000 airasia points, and more exciting prizes await!

Simply book flights with add-ons such as additional baggage allowance, choice of seats, and travel insurance from 15 August to 15 November 2023 and register through airasia Superapp and airasia.com for a chance to win!

Stay updated with the latest travel advisories, guidelines, and booking options through the airasia Superapp, its official website (www.airasia.com), and social media channels. Guests are also reminded to comply with the respective government regulations and travel requirements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
