Veteran actor Robert Arevalo passed away on Thursday (August 10) at the age of 85.
The sad news of Arevalo’s death was confirmed by his daughter through a social media post.
“Today is the day that the Lord has chosen to take our dearest Papa home. Robert Francisco Ylagan, a.k.a. Robert Arevalo, peacefully passed away at 10:17am this morning, Aug. 10, 2023. Praise God for His mercy and grace. We are grateful that He has given us the best Papa one can ever wish for. Thank you for loving us the way you did, Pa,” Anna Ylagan shared. “Although our hearts are broken, we are comforted by God’s promise that He has a place reserved for you in His kingdom in Heaven where all of us who believe in His son, Jesus, will one day reunite.”
The wake of Robert Arevalo will be held at Arlington Chapels, Araneta Ave., ‘Solace Rooms 1 & 2’ starting from Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, until Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023. The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love and sympathy they have received.
Robert Arevalo’s acting career began in the 1950s, and he quickly rose to prominence as one of the leading actors of his generation. He appeared in numerous films, showcasing his versatility by portraying various roles. Some of his notable movies include “Huk sa Bagong Pamumuhay” (1953), “Sino’ng Pipigil Sa Pagpatak ng Ulan?” (1966), and “Santiago” (1970).
Beyond his acting contributions, Arevalo also explored directing and producing. He directed several films, including “Eva, Sisa, Venus” (2002) and “Katawan” (2011). His remarkable achievements in Philippine cinema earned him recognition, awards, and accolades throughout his illustrious career.
