In a recent turn of events, social media sensation Rendon Labador has taken to his online platform to criticize the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) over an alleged profanity incident involving E.A.T. host Wally Bayola.
The incident reportedly occurred during the “Sugod Bahay” segment of E.A.T. on August 10.
Labador shared a video clip on his Facebook page, showcasing what he claimed was Wally Bayola using explicit language on national television. In the video, the host can allegedly be heard uttering a strong expletive.
Expressing his disappointment, Labador commented in his post, “Patulog-tulog nanaman ang MTRCB sa pansitan” (MTRCB seems to be asleep again when it comes to these matters).
Labador further chastised the regulatory agency, asserting his viewpoint in a rather straightforward manner. He wrote, “Pasensya na sa buong ahensya ng MTRCB pero ang feedback ko sa inyo ay patanga-tanga kayong lahat. Ang kukupad at ang babagal ninyo! Kung hindi ninyo kaya magampanan ang mga trabaho ninyo, mag si-resign na lang kayong lahat” (Apologies to the entire MTRCB agency, but my feedback for you is that you all seem foolish. You’re slow and unresponsive! If you can’t fulfill your roles, then all of you should resign).
Labador’s post prompted a flurry of comments from his followers, with one questioning, “MTRCB okay lang ba ang pagmumura sa panahon ngayon?” (Is it okay for MTRCB to allow profanity on television these days?). The post indicates the ongoing debate about whether profanity should be tolerated on national television.
As of now, the MTRCB has not issued an official statement regarding the alleged incident involving Wally Bayola and the profanity.
Yesterday, Wally Bayola issued a public apology while MTRCB also summoned E.A.T. for the said profanity.
This incident isn’t the first time Labador has targeted the MTRCB and the E.A.T. show.
In a previous instance, he raised concerns about a segment involving celebrity couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez on “It’s Showtime.” Additionally, he questioned former Senate President Tito Sotto III’s extended kiss with his wife, Helen Gamboa, which led to Labador challenging MTRCB chairperson Lala Sotto, who happens to be Tito and Helen’s daughter.
