On August 22, Kapuso actress Nadine Samonte discussed why she returned to GMA Network.
At the media conference of ‘The Missing Husband,’ which LionhearTV covered, Samonte said she accepted the Kapuso project because she missed working with GMA Network.
“Siyempre first of all, na-miss ko ang GMA (Network) kasi ‘yan naman talaga ‘yung original na tahanan ko eh. And sabi ko nga kanina, nakapag-yes ako–before The Missing Husband may mga offer na, pero kasi ito ‘yung masasabi ko ng mas– alam mo ‘yun, ‘yung iba ‘yung once. Kasi ten years akong nawala, mangangapa ka eh, mahihiya ka, kasi parang nag-umpisa ulit ako sa umpisa.”
She also revealed that she agreed to do the project because of the director and her co-star, Yasmien Kurdi.
“So noong nalaman ko si Direk Mark ‘yung magiging director, ‘Okay, okay sa akin, good ‘to.’ Tapos noong nalaman ko pang si Yasmien, ‘Oh, okay to. Sige na.’ Ganon lang kasimple.”
Samonte and Kurdi were part of the first season of GMA Network reality TV artist search Starstruck in 2003.
She had apprehension about coming back to work after her hiatus in 2017.
“Pero siyempre, nag-isip muna ako if I will accept, if I’m ready na talaga. Kasi, ayaw kong pumasok sa isang sitwasyon or ayaw kong tanggapin ang isang show na hindi ako 100% ready. So I really have to talk to my husband and everything. And I’m thankful kasi sobrang supportive niya sa akin sa mga gusto kong gawin, which is I really want to go back.
“I hope– I’m praying for more projects and ‘yun.”
