Renowned actress Nadine Lustre has been offered roles in television series, but she is taking her time in choosing the right project.
Nadine, who has been absent from the small screen for a few years, has garnered eager anticipation from fans regarding her potential return to television dramas.
During a recent story conference for her forthcoming horror film ‘Nokturno,’ produced by Viva Films, she was queried about her sentiments toward TV series and any possible offers.
Her response indicated, “Meron naman pong mga naging offer before pero kailangan ko po kasing mamili. Kasi, medyo taxing din po talaga ang teleserye. So, yun po, may offer naman pero kailangang piliing mabuti.”
Nadine’s last television series on ABS-CBN was ‘Till I Met You,’ which aired five years ago and featured her alongside her former boyfriend and on-screen partner, James Reid.
She seems content with her current career status, which affords her the opportunity to engage in film projects and travel, while also allowing for more personal time.
Nadine’s most recent cinematic endeavor, ‘Nokturno,’ follows her critically acclaimed film ‘Deleter,’ for which she earned the Best Actress award at the FAMAS Awards. Her upcoming project, ‘Nokturno,’ is helmed by director Mikhail Red, who also directed ‘Deleter.’
‘Nokturno’ delves into the enigmatic curse of the ‘Kumakatok,’ mysterious beings with distinct physical characteristics who are believed to bring misfortune. When they knock on a door during the night, it is believed that the person who opens the door or their loved one will perish within three days.
In the movie, Nadine portrays Jamie, an overseas Filipino worker based in Dubai. She returns to her hometown of San Sebastian after the tragic demise of her sister Joanna, taking charge of her younger brother and seeking answers about the curse. Bea Binene takes on the role of Joanna, who follows in Jamie’s footsteps. Eula Valdez plays Lilet, their mother, who attributes her husband’s death to the Kumakatok curse.
‘Nokturno’ is scheduled for release before the year’s end, produced by Evolve Studios and Viva Films. The production team is hopeful about the movie’s inclusion in the lineup for the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
