On August 1, Kapuso actor Mikoy Morales talked about his friendship with Bubble Gang cast members beyond the comedy gag show.
At a media conference for his two Cinemalaya 2023 entries, ‘Rookie’ and ‘Tether,’ which LionhearTV covered, Morales discussed how their friendship moved past the comedy gag show through their projects outside of ‘Bubble Gang.’
“Tuloy, tuloy pa rin, siguro mas nagtri-trickle down lang ‘yun na kung sino talaga ‘yung mayroon akong– kahit friends ko namang talaga siguro most of them.
“Pero mas lumalabas kung sino ‘yung beyond friendship ‘yung relationship namin, na mas nakaka-work ko pa bukod sa Bubble Gang before. Like si Kuya Bitoy na kahit ever since ako nag start talagang magkasama pa rin kami sa Pepito.”
He also discussed the projects with Paolo Contis outside of the comedy genre.
“Sila Paolo Contis–sila kuya Paolo naman, ‘yun nga eh, beyond Bubble Gang ‘yung relationship namin na parang kahit sa mga hindi comedy, basta alam namin– na kahit alam kong, ‘Oy acting piece ‘to Kuya Paolo, kailangan mo akong panoorin dito ha.’ ‘Yung may ganong kaming support sa isa’t isa.”
He then recounted some of his bonding moments with Chariz Solomon and Archie Alemanya, especially with the recent GMA Galas.
“Ayun tapos sila ate Cha din, sila Archie na sila ‘yung lagi kong ka-room kapag nagpre-prepare para sa Ball, kami ‘yung magkakasama. So ito it became like a reunion of sorts, kasi wala eh, nitong past two Galas wala na ako sa Bubble Gang eh, so dito lang kami nagkita ulit. So ayun, sabay-sabay kami sa red carpet.”
In 2022, Morales and other former ‘Bubble Gang’ got removed from the comedy gag show.
As for his upcoming Cinemaya 2023, ‘Rookie’ stars Pat Tingjuy, Aya Fernandez, and Agot Isidro.
As for ‘Tether’, Morales stars with Jorrybell Agoto, Breech Mae Valencia, Olivia Banela, and Albert Briones.
