The Kapuso afternoon drama ‘Magandang Dilag (MD)’ has surged ahead in the daytime ratings race, claiming the top spot.
Starring Herlene Budol, the drama series has surpassed the longtime leader, ‘Abot Kamay Na Pangarap (AKNP),’ becoming the new leader in daytime programming.
According to the latest preliminary overnight rating data from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘Magandang Dilag’ achieved a remarkable rating of 13.2 percent during its Thursday, August 3 episode, setting a new all-time high after its previous peak of 11.7 percent on July 28.
‘Magandang Dilag’s’ latest rating has propelled it ahead of its former leader, AKNP, which secured a rating of 13.0 percent.
As a result of MD’s impressive ascent in the daytime rankings, the Kapuso afternoon series has also climbed up the overall rating chart.
Previously holding the number 5 or number 6 spot, it now shares the number 2 position with ‘Voltes V: Legacy,’ which also scored 13.2 percent. Just above them are ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ and ’24 Oras,’ which both obtained a rating of 14.0 percent.
GMA Drama promptly celebrated the achievement on Twitter, expressing gratitude to the loyal Kapuso viewers for their unwavering support.
