On July 27, Kapuso star Lianne Valentin reacted to the possibility of getting acting awards with her role in the upcoming film, ‘Apo Hapon.’
At the story conference for ‘Apo Hapon,’ which LionhearTV covered, Valentin said she considered getting acting awards as a bonus for her career.
“Of course, parang bonus ‘yun eh. Kumbaga sa trabahong ito, magkaroon ka ng awards, or ma-recognize ka. ‘Yung mga recognitions and all. But for me– ako I really look forward. Of course, sino ba naman ang hindi gustong magkaroon ng award siyempre.”
She also promised to give her best as an actress working on the award-winning director Joel Lamangan’s upcoming movie.
“Of course, pero siyempre, kailangan mo paghirapan talaga. And I look forward to learn more from Direk Joel. Kung mangyayari man ‘yun, mangyayari. I really want to give my very best sa bawat projects and opportunities na binibigay sa akin.”
Valentin also recounted working with the award-winning director when she was younger.
“Siyempre bata ako, pero I can say na it was very memorable, and ‘yung mga lessons na natutunan ko rin noon, and sa mga natutunan ko rin mula kay Direk Joel when I was a kid, I’d say na alalang-alala ko pa rin ‘yun until now and may impact rin ‘yun kung sino ako bilang actress right now.”
She noted that she learned more about professionalism and good work ethics as an actress working with Lamangan.
“‘Yung professionalism talaga, bawal ka ma-late of course, bawal ka ma-late. And kailangan dumating ka set na alam mo ‘yung lines mo, ready ka. Hindi ‘yung– kailangan 100% ka, hindi pwede ‘yung 99% ready ka lang.”
Valentin joins the cast of the upcoming movie, ‘Apo Hapon’ with stars JC De Vera, Sakura Akiyoshi, Fumiya Sankai, Nella Dizon, Prince Clemente, Rico Barrera, Bautista, Jim Pebanco, and Marcus Madrigal.
The GK Productions film features a story of a Japanese soldier who fell in love with a Filipina and became a member of the local community in the Philippines amid the Second World War and the Japanese Occupation.
Under the direction of the award-winning director Joel Lamangan and the screenplay of Eric Ramos, ‘Apo Hapon’ opens in cinemas soon.
