On August 12, artist Kristel Fulgar revealed, through her vlog, why her hosting gig for South Korean star Seo In-guk’s fan meet got canceled.
According to Fulgar, the Korean technical director for Seo In-guk’s fan meet found her energy as a host ‘lacking’ during the rehearsals, which led to her replacement for the event.
Fulgar also commented that the technical director didn’t give her a second chance to prove herself.
“Eventually, sinabihan ako ng (Korean technical) director na hindi na raw ako ang magho-host. Kung nakulangan sila sa energy do’n sa rehearsal, sabi ko po I would do my best.
“Nag-eexpect ako na ipapaakyat ulit ako sa stage para mapakita ko ‘yung 100 percent (energy) na sinasabi ko, pero hindi daw. Sinasabi nila na gusto nila ng magiging magandang event. Hindi man lang ako binigyan ng second chance para mapatunayan ko ‘yung sarili ko.”
Her revelation sparked mixed reactions from netizens.
Some netizens sympathized and sided with Fulgar, citing the fan meet organizers should’ve given a second chance to the artist.

Others sided with the organizers, noting that Fulgar should’ve given her 100 percent energy during the rehearsals.
I saw her vlog and it was truly underwhelming. I've worked with her before and I know that she's super talented. However, she slacked and I felt that she was complacent at the time that she was rehearsing.

Despite what happened, Fulgar still promoted the fan meeting with her social media and excitedly met with Seo In-guk as a fan herself backstage.
The host, Karen Bordador, replaced Fulgar on the hosting gig, and she disclosed how strict the organizers were during the fan meet event.
