Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President of GMA Network and President and CEO of GMA Films, expressed her satisfaction with the current performance of the show ‘Eat Bulaga,’ which is currently hosted by Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno.
During a casual lunch conversation on August 16, as reported by Salve Asis in her article on PSN, Kapuso Executive Annette Gozon shared her thoughts on the show.
She said, “Okay naman ‘yung performance nila, lumalaban naman. Masaya naman ‘yung show.”
Gozon clarified that their network doesn’t have direct involvement in the production of ‘Eat Bulaga.’
“So ‘yun nga, sinasabi ko, wala naman kaming kinalaman talaga sa production, pero syempre masaya kami ‘pag nagre-rate sila,” Ms. Annette added.
On July 19, ‘Eat Bulaga’ scored its first victory against ‘E.A.T’ on TV5 and ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV, with a TV rating of 4.12% compared to ‘E.A.T’ with 3.79% and ‘It’s Showtime’ with 2.76%.
The contract of TAPE Inc., the producer of Eat Bulaga, with GMA Network is set to last until 2024. However, there have been speculations that the contract might not be renewed, and GMA Network might produce its own noontime show.
The Kapuso executive responded positively, stating, “Parang ang layo pa mag-e-end… ‘yung current contract nila is ending end of next year pa. Ang tagal pa ng panahon na ‘yon. Ang dami pang pwedeng mangyari.”
