On August 1, artists Jerome Ponce and Rhen Escaño detailed their working experience with each other in their upcoming Viva One series. However, reporters and their co-stars were seemingly ‘shipping’ the two as couples.
At the media event for ‘Kung Di Lang Tayo Sumuko,’ which LionhearTV covered, Ponce and Escaño co-star Ryza Cenon alluded to a possible budding romance between the two by stating, “Bagyo ba kayo? Parang may namumuo.”
Escaño recounted what it was like meeting Ponce for the first time.
“First time namin magkita noong workshop, and hindi kami ganon actually ganon nagpapansinan. Kahit noong look test. Dumating po siya, hindi niya ako pinansin.”
Ponce then explained that he was trying to observe the cast of ‘Kung Di Lang Tayo Sumuko’ before bonding with them.
“Ako kasi, bilang bago sa grupo, hindi ko kilala, observant muna ako. So tinitignan ko muna kung anong pagkatao, anong gusto, para at least may input ako kapag kinausap.
“So until then hanggang pictorial wala. Wala akong nakikita, wala at all, until noong pag-uwi na lang, nagba-bye na lang, nag ano lang ako and all, so noong first week, sila ‘yung magka-kwentuhan, sabi ko ‘Ah okay, jolly naman pala sila mag kwentuhan,’ so pumasok na ako. ‘Yun na naging madaldal na.”
Escaño then highlighted how she and Ponce became comfortable with each other.
“At dito rin ninyo po makikita kung gaano kami naging ka-comfortable with each other.
According to rumors and reports, both Ponce and Escaño are single, which may have been the cause of the ‘relation-shipping’ between the co-stars.
The upcoming Viva One series came from the best-selling novel by Marcelo Santos III.
‘Kung Di Lang Tayo Sumuko’ stars Carlo Aquino, Coleen Garcia, Ponce, Escaño, Ryza Cenon, and Kiko Estrada.
Under the direction of Carlo Enciso Catu, the romantic drama streams via Viva One starting August 21.
