Former journalist Jay Sonza has broken his silence with a heartfelt post on Facebook.
This comes after his release from custody on August 22, following a period of legal issues.
In his recent post, Sonza expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to experience freedom once more.
He shared a poetic sentiment: “Hagbay na jud nga wa nako makita ang bidlisiw sa sayong kabuntagon. Salamat Guinoo sa higayon!” which roughly translates to “It’s a shame that I didn’t see the sunrise this morning. Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity!”
This social media update marked Sonza’s first appearance online since he took a break from social media on June 5.
Earlier in August, authorities had taken Sonza into custody when he attempted to leave the country. It was discovered that he was facing serious non-bailable charges that could have led to a lengthy jail term.
However, the court ultimately allowed Sonza to regain his freedom as the individuals who had filed complaints against him failed to appear during the hearings.
Following the release of his post, many of Sonza’s fans and supporters expressed their joy and relief, welcoming him back and commending him for his resilience in the face of adversity.
As of now, Jay Sonza has not provided any official comments regarding the charges previously filed against him. The situation surrounding his legal matters continues to unfold.
