Kapamilya actress Jane Oineza recently solidified her partnership with ABS-CBN by signing a contract with the network, which she fondly considers her second home since the beginning of her acting career.
Expressing her immense gratitude for the opportunity, Oineza shared that she has patiently awaited her own “perfect time” to shine.
Looking back at her journey, Oineza recalled how acting started as a fun and imaginative activity during her childhood, eventually blossoming into her true passion. Now fully committed to her craft, she cannot envision herself pursuing any other path.
“It started as something na fun for me kasi siyempre nung bata ako, I get to play pretend. And then from that, nag-grow siya to being my passion talaga and now I can’t imagine doing something else. This is what I want to do, what I was meant to do,” Oineza shared.
Having found a home in ABS-CBN, Oineza expressed her trust and confidence in the network and its talent management arm, Star Magic. She believes that the patience and hard work she invested in her career have led her to be in good hands with ABS-CBN. Reflecting on her journey, she emphasized that the seeds she planted eventually bloomed, resulting in her current success.
While waiting for her moment to shine, Oineza admitted to moments of self-critique, continuously seeking ways to improve her craft and skills. She considers this phase as crucial preparation, ensuring that she would be fully equipped and deserving when the right opportunities came her way.
“Hindi naman po [ako nainip maghintay]. May mga times lang na mas self-critical ka siguro. Hindi naman sa nainip pero parang, ‘Ano pa kaya ang pwede kong i-improve?’ More self-critical than questioning ‘yung ibang bagay,” she shared.
Regarding the roles and projects offered to her, Oineza revealed that she accepted them wholeheartedly. She emphasized that she views this as an opportunity to challenge herself, taking on roles that others may have declined. Instead of viewing it as unfair, she welcomes it as a positive challenge to enhance her skills and versatility as an actress.
“Kung ano ‘yung hinindian ng iba, sige gagawin natin iyan. Kakayanin ko iyan. Again, we’ll take the challenge. More than the negative, I think mas positive siya for me,” she asserted.
In closing, Oineza offered words of encouragement to fellow actors who are also patiently awaiting their moment in the spotlight. She emphasized that success does not happen overnight and may entail trial and error. She urged them to be patient and continue striving for their dreams, while remaining their own number one fan.
“No matter what other people will say, you have to be your number one fan. You have to believe in yourself until they see what you see in you. Huwag lang susuko talaga and just be patient and trust,” Oineza shared.
