GMA Films currently has a lineup of films in the works.
According to Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President of GMA Network and President/CEO of GMA Films, they are hopeful that moviegoers will return to theaters.
‘The Cheating Game,’ starring real-life couple Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz, was previously shown in cinemas last month.
On September 20, the movie ‘Video City,’ a joint venture between GMA Pictures and Viva Films and starring Ruru Madrid and Yassi Pressman, will hit theaters. A fantasy-romantic comedy, the film is inspired by Video City, the famous video rental shop in the ’90s. The story follows Ruru’s character, who meets Yassi when he travels back in time to when Video City shops still existed.
Among the films mentioned by the Kapuso Executive is ‘Five Break-ups and a Romance,’ starring Alden Richards and Julia Montes.
Dingdong Dantes will lead the upcoming GMA Public Affairs film titled ‘Firefly.’ Directed by Zig Dulay, Firefly will also star Max Collins, Epi Quizon, Alessandra de Rossi, Yayo Aguila, Cherry Pie Picache, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ysabel Ortega. We’ve heard that they will be submitting it for the MMFF competition.
There’s also a horror movie in the pipeline for Barbie Forteza titled ‘Penthouse 777.’ Another movie for Alden Richards is also in the works.
Some of the films previously mentioned by Nessa Valdellon, Senior Vice President for GMA Pictures, include the science fiction romance ‘Version 2,’ as well as the 4K documentary film ‘The Lost Sabungeros.’
