LionhearTV had the privilege of being invited to the special screening of ‘Monday First Screening,’ the first-ever film produced by Net25 and directed by Benedict Mique.
Dubbed as a “senior citizen rom-com,” the movie revolves around the theme of second chances. It tells the story of two individuals, one abandoned by their spouse and the other widowed, whose paths cross during the free Monday screenings at a local mall. Despite being senior citizens, they unexpectedly fall in love.
Led by the esteemed and multi-awarded actors Ricky Davao and Gina Alajar, ‘Monday First Screening’ charmed audiences of all ages with its straightforward narrative, relatable characters, and heartwarming moments. The film takes viewers on a delightful journey, exploring themes of companionship, second chances, and the endless possibilities that come with age.
One thing is for sure; it’s not just senior citizens who can relate to the film. It demonstrates that love knows no age, and this was evident from the reactions of both Gen Z and millennial viewers at the special screening, who couldn’t help but feel giddy and happy throughout the movie.
Of course, being older comes with its own set of challenges, but in the end, ‘Monday First Screening’ beautifully conveys that it’s never too late, that second chances are indeed possible, and happiness can still be found.
The screening of Gina and Ricky’s film at the EVM Convention Center was graced by veteran artists, including Amy Austria, Isabel Rivas, Nova Villa, Barbara Perez, Gladys Reyes, Rez Cortez, and of course, Gina’s children, Geoff and Ryan Eigenmann. Also in attendance were Meg Imperial, Devon Seron, and many others.
