On July 27, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and vlogger Fumiya Sankai expressed how happy he felt being part of the upcoming Joel Lamangan film, ‘Apo Hapon.’
At the story conference for ‘Apo Hapon,’ which LionhearTV covered, Sankai expressed his appreciation for being part of his first Philippine movie after his Pinoy Big Brother stint.
“Sobrang saya, I’m so happy kasi, I’m from Pinoy Big Brother, and after PBB, I went to Japan. And I stayed in Japan for two years. And this is my first trabaho dito sa Philippines. And my first film– is Japan and Philippines di ba? Sobrang saya. Thank you so much, Salamat. I love you.”
Sankai first established his YouTube Channel with his brother in 2016. Then he went to the Philippines to study English at the Lyceum of the Philippines.
Then in 2019, he joined Pinoy Big Brother: Otso as an official housemate, which propelled his showbiz career.
However, due to the pandemic, he had to return to Japan, where he continued his career as a content creator and vlogger.
Now he returns to the Philippines as a part of the upcoming film, ‘Apo Hapon’ with JC De Vera, Lianne Valentine, Sakura Akiyoshi, Nella Dizon, Prince Clemente, Rico Barrera, Perla Bautista, Jim Pebanco, and Marcus Madrigal.
The GK Productions film features a story of a Japanese soldier who fell in love with a Filipina and became a member of the local community in the Philippines amid the Second World War and the Japanese Occupation.
Under the direction of the award-winning director Joel Lamangan and the screenplay of Eric Ramos, ‘Apo Hapon’ opens in cinemas soon.
