In a recent online program streamed on YouTube, TV personality Cristy Fermin voiced her concerns about actor-host Paolo Contis’s regular speeches on the popular noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
The show, produced by Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc., has been featuring Contis frequently addressing various issues thrown against the show and its staff.
Many netizens have taken notice of Paolo Contis’s speeches, which often revolve around the ownership of Eat Bulaga. These discussions even sparked reactions from fellow Dabarkads, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
During the program, Cristy Fermin expressed her observation that Paolo Contis’s speeches come across as confrontational, while simultaneously portraying himself as a victim of the ongoing issue. She pointed out that Contis starts by delivering bold statements but tends to backtrack or play the victim as the segment approaches its conclusion.
“Siya ‘yung starter, pero siya ‘yung pa-victim,” said Cristy. “Diba pag starter ka ikaw ang may kasalanan pero sa dulo pa-victim ka pa.”
Rommel Chika, a co-host on the program, also shared his thoughts on Paolo’s style of speaking, emphasizing the stark contrast between his assertive opening statements and his seemingly defensive stance towards the end.
Cristy Fermin suggested that Eat Bulaga should consider changing its title if the show wishes to avoid continuous criticism from netizens. However, as of writing, Paolo Contis has yet to respond or issue a statement regarding the matter.
The ongoing discussions and reactions surrounding Eat Bulaga’s ownership issue have captured the attention of viewers and fans of the show. As the situation unfolds, the public remains curious about how it will be resolved and its potential impact on the long-running noontime program.
