Actor and TV host Awra Briguela is facing fresh legal troubles after recently posting bail and being released in July.
According to reports emerging on August 16, three new cases have been filed by his former altercation counterpart, Mark Christian Ravana, related to their altercation outside a bar in Makati City on June 29.
Mark Christian Ravana’s lawyer, Atty. Nick Nangit, announced that his client has filed cases against Awra. The charges reportedly include light threats, grave coercion, and violation of the Safe Space Act, all stemming from the incident.
It can be recalled that Awra was arrested and detained in June on charges of physical injuries, alarms and scandal, direct assault, and disobedience to a person in authority. These charges were later downgraded to slight physical injury and simple disobedience to a person in authority.
The incident originated from Awra’s claim that one of his friends was being harassed, prompting him to intervene and defend the friend. Ravana, however, contends that he was the true victim, alleging that Awra forcibly undressed him inside the bar and became aggressive when he resisted.
The situation escalated outside the bar, where the two parties clashed.
We are open to Awra’s camp for their response regarding the new charges filed against him.
