Comedian-TV host Awra Briguela has returned to social media after a period of silence following his involvement in an incident at a bar in Poblacion, Makati.
Since being released on bail after his detainment, Awra has not been active on his social media platforms or on his game show “Emojination,” where he co-hosts with Maja Salvador on TV5.
On Wednesday afternoon, August 9, Awra posted on his X account, but the post was solely for the promotion of his upcoming series “Comedy Island Philippines,” which will be available on Prime.

Comedy Island Philippines features seven comedians, actors, and social media celebrities—Carlo Aquino, Rufa Mae Quinto, Andrea Brillantes, Jerald Napoles, Cai Cortez, Awra Briguela, Justine Luzares, and Drew Arellano—who embark on a hilarious adventure when they are washed upon the shore of the mysterious Tawa-Tawa Island, which resurfaces after 100 years to commence the fictional “Centennial Games.”
They soon find themselves unwitting competitors in these games and must improvise to survive and escape the island. Pitted against each other in unscripted improvisational scenarios, the celebrities pull out all stops to bring laughter and entertainment to the island’s citizens, in order to win the most votes and a chance to go back home.
Interestingly, the comment section of his posts has been turned off, but many have retweeted or shared his post.
