During the media conference for ‘Battle of the Judges,’ an upcoming GMA Network show hosted by Alden Richards, the actor shared some details about his film ‘Five Break-ups and a Romance.’
Coming from a four-year film hiatus, Richards returns to the big screen with Julia Montes.
Richards revealed that he missed starring in films, and he just allowed himself to go with flow when he was offered the project with Montes.
Nabasa ko script, maayos ang pagkakasulat, si Julia ang cast and Julia has been parang not very visible in the movie scenes so this is her comeback.”
The actor also said that it was in this film that he felt most emotional as a viewer and he felt different seeing the finished project.
He also revealed in the conference that this project has a different effect compared to his previous work, the highest grossing Filipino film of all time ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye.’ He also teased about his character in ‘Five Break-ups and a Romance,’ saying it is the mature counterpart of his role in ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye.’
The project also marks the showbiz comeback of Montes after she took a break to spend time with her father in Germany.
Last year, Montes announced her acting return in 2023 and recently, she and Coco Martin finally admitted their relationship.
‘Five Break-ups and a Romance’ is written and directed by Irene Emma Villamor. The play date of the finished film is still unannounced.
Aside from starring in the film, Richards also hosts the upcoming Kapuso competition show ‘Battle of the Judges.’
Airing on July 15, ‘Battle of the Judges’ features knock-out duels and a Judge-versus-Judge format. Judges will be Boy Abunda, Bea Alonzo, Annette Gozon-Valdes, and Jose Manalo.
