On July 4, the famed host of ‘Wowowin: Tutok to Win’ Willie Revillame released a music video for his song ‘Babalik Ako’ on the Wowowin YouTube channel.
In the first minutes of the video, Revillame is seen in a chair with messages being displayed on screen. The messages expressed his yearning for his loyal fans after his hiatus from television.
The messages read: “Namimiss ko na ang inyong hiyawan, namimiss ko na ang inyong palakpakan, at namimiss ko na ang inyong mga yakap.”
The music video shows clips from his shows as the song plays in the background with lyrics expressing his longing to continue entertaining and helping his fans.
The lyrics ‘Ako’y nasasabik kayo ay makasama’ and the song title ‘Babalik Ako’ hint at his return to TV after his absence. This made his fans excited.
In the comment section of the video, one comment reads: “Love u kuya Will, wait kami talaga sa pagbabalik mo (emoji)”
Actor and host Luis Manzano also commented on the music video claiming that they will see each other soon. He commented, “See you soon T. Wils!! (emoji)”
Revillame was not seen on TV after he left GMA Network and had a failed endeavor with AMBS, the channel owned by politician Manny Villar. The actor-host left GMA Network because he was already in talks with the politician to help boost the latter’s network.
He was set to air his program on AMBS but was postponed due to unfinished preparations. AMBS assured that he would still earn money despite the postponement, but Revillame terminated his contract because he did not want to be a burden to the network.
After leaving AMBS, Revillame was set to sign contract with VIVA Entertainment but the signing was allegedly cancelled due to unfair wage cuts. The TV host has had a break from appearing on TV since then.
Cristy Fermin revealed on the July 3 episode of ‘Cristy FerMinute’ that Revillame was in talks with TAPE Inc. executives last June 30. She claimed that the TV host was offered to be part of the July 1 episode of the revamped ‘Eat Bulaga!’ on GMA-7.
Revillame reportedly declined the offer due to his massive respect towards the comedic trio of Tito, Vic, and Joey. Fermin claimed that the TV host was more open to discussing his show ‘Wowowin’ than having a face off against TVJ.
However, this has yet to be confirmed by Revillame and the TAPE Inc. executives.
