It seems that ‘Wowowin’ hosted by Willie Revillame has hit a dead end in terms of finding a new network to air on, with previous speculations about it potentially returning to its previous network not bearing fruit.
TVJ (Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto) is now with TV5 via ‘EAT,’ while ‘Eat Bulaga’ remains on GMA Network, and ‘It’s Showtime’ can be seen on GTV and A2Z.
According to PEP.ph article on July 26, IBC13 President Jimmy Policarpio stated that the purpose of their meeting with PTV-4 General Manager Anna Puod and ‘Wowowin’ host Willie Revillame was for ‘exploratory talks.’
Speculations quickly spread about potential negotiations between Willie and the top executives of IBC-13 and PTV-4 after a photo circulated showing Willie visiting the studio of the government-owned television station on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
In the picture, Willie was accompanied by Puod and PTV-4 news personalities Aljo Bendijo and Angelique Lazo.
Currently, discussions between Willie, Puod, and Policarpio are taking place at Shangri-La The Fort.
Policarpio said in an interview with Cabinet Files tonight, ‘We’re talking right now, purely on an exploratory basis. We’d like to have a new direction for PTV-4 and Channel 13, making it not just a government station but also a network that appeals to the masses. Entertainment is also necessary to make the television station appealing.’
He added, ‘We’re still in the process of talking. It’s still exploratory. We’re talking with Anna, together with Mr. Willie Revillame.’
The management of PTV-4 and IBC13 has invited Willie to bring Wowowin to their television networks.
If an agreement is reached, Puod and Policarpio plan to air Wowowin simultaneously on PTV-4 and IBC-13 from Monday to Friday, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
