On the July 17 episode of ‘It’s Showtime,’ Vice Ganda jokingly avoided commenting on the use of songs with royalties.
Vice and co-host Anne Curtis-Smith interviewed Kelsey, a ‘Mini Miss U’ candidate from Pampanga.
They talked about Kelsey’s hobbies such as uploading TikTok videos, vlogging, and her audition journey for ‘Mini Miss U.’
However, when they got to Kelsey’s love for dancing and singing, the ‘Mini Miss U’ candidate revealed that she could not dance to her favorite song on ‘It’s Showtime.’
“Sabi nila bawal daw ‘yung Moony Night,” said Kelsey.
Anne apprehensively responded, “Ayan nanaman tayo.”
Vice remarked, “Ayan nanaman, no comment. Tayo na naman ang maiipit niyan.”
When Anne asked Kelsey about other songs she wants to dance to, Vice said, “Kayo, bahala kayo. Maiipit nanaman kami. Sinabihan lang naman.”
When Anne pivoted to ask what Kelsey wanted to sing instead, Vice jokingly commented, “Kaw na ‘yan Anne. Di na kita sasamahan diyan. Nagsama tayo last time eh.”
In the end, Kelsey decided to perform Imogen Cantang’s ‘Da Da Da.’
The segment went viral on social media, with netizens weighing in on Vice and Anne’s apprehension and ‘trauma’ with discussion on songs they could use in the noontime show.

Vice and Anne became the targets of online bashing after they commented on how ‘It’s Showtime’ could no longer use SB19’s ‘Gento,’ citing music royalty claims of the Pinoy Pop Group.
It has since sparked online discourse on music royalties for Filipino music artists.
