Showbiz insider Cristy Fermin expressed her belief that the executives of TAPE Inc. were deeply displeased with GMA Network.
According to Fermin in a July 4 episode of Cristy FerMinute, GMA Network allegedly refused to ‘lend’ their beloved Kapuso stars to appear as guests on the revamped ‘Eat Bulaga’ produced by TAPE. However, these very same artists appeared as guests during the grand launch of ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV last July 1.
During the historic episode ‘It’s Showtime’ on GMA Network’s GTV, Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, and Pokwang were present.
“Ang sama-sama ng loob ng mga taga-TAPE, Inc. kasi yung mga artista ng GMA-7 na matagal na nilang iniimbitang lumabas sa kanilang programa, kamukat-mukat mo, nasa It’s Showtime noong Sabado!” Fermin revealed.
“Napakasakit nga naman ‘yon… sampal na mag-asawa ‘yon!” she added, emphasizing the blow that TAPE, Inc. suffered.
Moreover, the legendary trio Tito, Vic, and Joey proved their worth once again as their new noontime show on TV5, ‘E.A.T,’ drew a massive online following and soared in TV ratings.
On May 31 this year, the trio quit ‘Eat Bulaga’ due to a conflict with the management of TAPE Inc.
Furthermore, TAPE’s revamped ‘Eat Bulaga’ is suffering from loss of advertising placements and poor TV ratings. The rebranded show is now headlined by Paolo Contis, Legaspi twins Cassy and Mavy, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, and Alexa Miro, along with former Mayor Isko Moreno.
