Two lead stars Richard Gutierrez and Jake Cuenca acknowledged each other for being professional in handling and executing intense action scenes.
Given the intensity and high-octane nature of the scenes in the top rating Kapamilya series ‘The Iron Heart,’ lead stars Richard Gutierrez and Jake Cuenca admitted that doing action dramas is a ‘pain business.’ Both agreed that getting hurt on the set is all part of their collective effort to come up with a world-class TV show.
During the press conference for the second season of ‘The Iron Heart’ last June 24 at Seda Hotel in Quezon City, Gutierrez emphasized the objective of the show since day 1, which is “…to elevate the level of action in the Philippines,” adding that we Filinos are capable enough to be on a par with international standards.
“We wanna raise the standards of action,” said Cuenca, noting that it was exactly what the series has been trying to achieve.
To be able to do that, Gutierrez and Cuenca said that pain is inevitable.
“Sanay ako sa mga action scenes… pero ‘safety is our priority’. We will not risk any injury as much as we can, and we’re very thankful, na up to this day we’ve been doing it right’. Yes nasasaktan kami, bruises, pasa, gasgas, but that’s all part of action,” Gutierrez shared, underscoring the safety measures enforced on the set amid their goal to deliver sophisticated and high-caliber action scenes.
“It’s all part of the action,” agreed Cuenca, who gave props to their directors Lester Pimentel, Wang Yangbin, and Richard Arellano for cultivating a prepared mindset when tackling difficult action scenes on the set.
“We’re on a mindset when we get to the set, so there’s nothing that’s gonna get in our way from taking the scene,” he added.
‘The Iron Heart’ is set to open a new season on July 3, with its primary location now shifting from Cebu to the beautiful province of Iloilo. Recently, Gutierrez and Cuenca, alongside Ian Veneracion and Albert Martinez, filmed scenes for the first season’s final episodes.
