On July 12, real-life couple Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose disclosed how it was working on their intimate scenes in the Kapuso film ‘The Cheating Game.’
At the media event for ‘The Cheating Game,’ Cruz highlighted the differences between working with San Jose in All-Out Sundays and their upcoming GMA Public Affairs Film.
“Ano siya eh, parang different experience siya for me eh. Like, I used to seeing Jules, pagka-working sa All-Out Sundays and hosting pag sa The Clash, and of course, on a normal basis kapag bumibisita ako sa kanila or lumalabas kami. Pero, ito talagang movie, bago siya for me na kasama ko siya sa ganito.”
He then noted how his comfortability with San Jose helped with their portrayal of their characters in the film.
“Especially kapag may important na eksena, ‘yun sabihin na natin, intimate scene with her, hindi mo siya parang pwedeng hugutin na kasi ay si Jules naman kasi ‘yan so okay lang. Kasi iba pa rin ‘yung– hindi naman kayo ‘yun eh, like si Miguel and si Hope ‘yun eh. Nakatulong lang din na kumportable kami sa bawat isa.”
He also pointed out how they supported each other while working on the film.
“Pero ‘yung mga attack kapag may ganong eksena is something new pa rin sa amin. So ‘yung process in doing our scenes, ‘yung heavy scenes, ‘yung kilig scenes, or kung intimate scenes man ‘yan– is bagong experience for the both of us, so parehas kaming nagtutulungan.
“Ganon naman talaga kami eh, we support each other talaga sa kahit anong paraan na pwede naming gawin.”
San Jose agreed with Cruz, citing that their care for each other helped them work on their scenes.
“Nakatulong na lang din na siyempre of course, as Hope and Miguel, nakatulong na rin talaga ‘yung si Ray ‘yung kasama ko sa mga scenes na ‘yun. Kasi ano eh, we felt the need that we have to take care of each other and support each other as much as possible and as much as we can.”
She also considered working on the intimate scenes a delight because they got to be vulnerable with each other.
“And then, it’s also a delight kasi we got to be really vulnerable with each other. And may mga scenes rin talaga na– sobrang importante rin kasi na kapag intimate scenes, you really have to be vulnerable with each other.
“We have to acknowledge each other’s emotions. Kumbaga parang give and take lang talaga. Kaya grateful ako kasi he made it a lot easier.”
They were also asked if they felt awkward doing their intimate scenes in the film.
“Ako naman po, wala naman akong na-feel na anything na awkward. Kasi ever since naman talaga, comfortable ako kay Ray. Tsaka parang hindi ko na kailangan mag-pretend sa kaniya. So kung ano ‘yung nafe-feel ko sa moment, as in parang in the moment siya,” San Jose responded.
“Walang masyadong awkwardness kasi like kahit naman kunwari ang atake kasi doon, kahit kunwari hindi kami ni Jules ang magkatrabaho, hindi naman siya kukunan right away. You have to build the rapport and the chemistry and the characters together, bago ninyo kunan ‘yung mga ganong eksena,” Cruz added.
