Love is sweeter the second time around for celebrity couple Jeric Gonzales and Rabiya Mateo. During their return to ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ Boy Abunda asked about their relationship after their previous breakup.
Mateo shared that she did not regret giving their relationship a second chance because she struggled when she was alone without him. She realized that it was better to swallow her pride and learn to understand than to lose him.
“Alam mo Tito Boy nung ako lang mag-isa mas hirap ako na wala siya. Parang mas okay na lang na kainin ko ‘yung pride ko to learn to understand kaysa mawala siya.”
Gonzales, in turn, thanked Mateo for giving their relationship a second chance.
“Thank you kasi hindi mo pinagsisisihan. And ako naman ‘yung realization ko dito Tito Boy, ang dami kong naging relationship in the past pero ito ‘yung worth fighting for kasi nung naghiwalay kami, hindi ko talaga siya natiis. Ibig sabihin true love talaga ‘yun.”
Describing Mateo as his girlfriend, he said, “She’s perfect.”
Mateo also mentioned that both their careers are going well individually, not as a love team. She considers Gonzales her rest after a full day of work since they are not together on set.
“I think that’s the beauty in it kasi since hindi kami magkasama sa work, pagdating sa bahay parang siya ang pahinga ko.”
Abunda asked Gonzales in response, “Kung pahinga ka ni Rabiya, ano naman siya sa’yo?”
Gonzales playfully answered, “Sa kaniya ako napapagod.”
Everyone in the studio, including Abunda, Mateo, and the audience, burst into laughter at his response. The conversation then transitioned to a playful exchange of ‘wedding vows’ as the celebrity couple shared their heartfelt messages for each other.
In real life, Mateo and Gonzales have reportedly discussed the possibility of marriage. According to Mateo, if Gonzales were to propose to her, “We have to consider that we need to be financially and emotionally stable first because it’s a big leap.”
‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ continues to air after ‘The Seed of Love’ on GMA Network and other digital platforms.
