The noontime ratings game is becoming increasingly intense as rival programs draw closer to each other in terms of TV viewership.
Based on the latest reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, TVJ’s ‘E.A.T,’ ‘It’s Showtime,’ and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ are currently in a statistical tie, with very small rating margins separating them.
On Tuesday, July 18, ‘E.A.T’ reached its lowest rating again since its debut on July 1, scoring 3.6 percent and placing 13th in the overall rating chart. This was a repeat of its previous lowest rating recorded on Wednesday, July 12.
Meanwhile, the revamped ‘Eat Bulaga!’ obtained a rating of 3.5 percent, just 0.1 percent lower than ‘E.A.T,’ securing the 14th spot. ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’ followed closely, ranking 16th with a rating of 3.2 percent.
On Monday, July 17, the three noontime shows also achieved nearly identical rating numbers. ‘E.A.T’ scored 3.9 percent at the 13th spot, closely trailed by ‘Eat Bulaga!’ at number 14 with a rating of 3.4 percent. ‘It’s Showtime’ came in just 0.1 percent behind ‘Eat Bulaga!’ with a rating of 3.3 percent, placing 15th on the ratings board.
However, despite the tight competition on television, it appears that the initial excitement over TVJ’s return to the noontime slot has subsided when it comes to online views.
Based on LionhearTV’s monitoring on Wednesday, July 19, ‘E.A.T’ accumulated over 93 thousand combined online views on YouTube and Facebook, while ‘It’s Showtime’ maintained its consistent average of over 120 thousand total combined views on the same platforms.
On the other hand, TAPE Inc.’s rebranded ‘Eat Bulaga!’ is lagging far behind, with just over 2,000 views on TAPE Inc. and Isko Domagoso’s Facebook pages.
