On June 30, Kapuso comedian Michael V. (Bitoy) expressed his interest in having Vice Ganda as a ‘Bubble Gang’ guest.
Now that ‘It’s Showtime’ signed a block time agreement with GMA Network for a noontime slot on GTV, Michael V. has expressed his willingness to see the Unkabogable Star on ‘Bubble Gang.’
At the media event for the new time slot for ‘Bubble Gang,’ Bitoy explained that although he is open to having Vice as guest on the Kapuso gag show, it would still need a ‘go signal’ from GMA Network.
“Hindi ko alam, as far as I know, ‘yung willingness pa lang. Ngayon ko pa nga lang, na-express eh.”
He then discussed how he and Vice talked about possibly guesting on ‘Bubble Gang’ during their rehearsals for Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez’s concert.
“Yeah, there was a concert of Ogie at ni Regine before na magkasama kami sa– as guest. Magkasama kami during one of those rehearsals, and ano siya, palagi niyang mine-mention sa akin ‘yun before na i-guest mo naman ako sa Bubble Gang ninyo.
“Ako in a heartbeat gagawin ko, kung walang magiging kontrobersya, walang magiging aberya. Igue-guest ko talaga.”
He then clarified that he and Vice are not close friends yet because they have not worked on any projects together.
“I couldn’t say na close kami kasi unang-una hindi pa naman kami nag-katrabaho pa before. Hindi kami magkapit bahay na kagaya ni Ogie, si Ogie kapit-bahay ko, naka-trabaho ko nang matagal, kumpare ko, there are few people in showbiz na talagang close ko. And as much as hindi ko masabing close kami ni Vice, there’s a chance, there’s a chance, na baka kapag nagkatrabaho kami, eh baka maging close din kami.”
Bitoy confirmed that he wanted Vice to be part of the Mr. Assimo segment of ‘Bubble Gang.’
‘Bubble Gang,’ the longest-running comedy-gag show, features a new lineup of stars with Michael V., Paolo Contis, Chariz Solomon, Edgar Allan Guzman, Buboy Villar, Ana Barro, Chesca Fausto, Mika Salamanca, Jelai Andres, Kokoy De Santos, and Betong Sumaya.
After 27 years on the Friday late-night slot, Bubble Gang moves to Sundays, 6 p.m. starting July 9.
