On the June 27 episode of ‘Magandang Buhay,’ Melai Cantiveros opened up about having a lump in her breast.
In the show, hosts Regine Velasquez, Jolina Magdangal, and Cantiveros were wearing togas to celebrate the graduation season. In their opening spiel, Magdangal asked her co-hosts which things they have already graduated from.
In response to the question, Cantiveros shared her recent health scare.
“Parang nagkaroon ng bukol dito sa may boobs kase,” she said.
The comedian-host also said that she did not share such information with any of her family members prior to opening up in the show.
“Hindi talaga ‘to alam, ngayon ko lang sasabihin. Hindi alam ng family ko,” she added.
Cantiveros said that she made sure to pray in the miraculous churches while she was in Cebu for a vacation.
“Tapos nu’ng nagbakasyon ako ng Cebu, dun ginoal ko talaga na mapuntahan lahat ng mga simbahan na mga mirakulong simbahan nasa Bohol, yes, and dun ako nag-pray,” she shared.
She happily announced that the lump miraculously disappeared after her intent prayers.
“Nawala talaga momshy Reg na hindi pa ako nagpa-check up,” she declared.
Cantiveros further admitted that she was immersed in negative thoughts because of the health scare.
“Iba yung bukol kase matigas kaysa dun na parang may laman so ito talaga sabi ko ‘My God, Lord’. Alam mo pinag-pray ko kasi dapat magpapa-check up na sana ako after ng cycle natin, magpapa-check up na ako. Alam mo bago ako magpa-check up, ‘Lord ikaw bahala, hindi na ako mag-iisip’…kase pumasok na mga negative sa isip ko,” Cantiveros added.
The comedian-host claimed that she has now ‘graduated’ from having the negative thoughts brought about by that experience.
“Alam mo In Jesus’ Name, nawala, grabe talaga si Lord kaya sabi ko simula ngayon, hindi na ako mag-iisip ng kung ano ng negative kase alam ko si Lord nandyan,” she said.
Cantiveros started her showbiz career as one of the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) in October 2009 where she ended up as the grand winner. It was in PBB that she met her future husband Jason Francisco, the other half of ‘Melason.’
In 2010, she guested in talk shows and variety shows on TV such as ‘The Buzz’ and ‘ASAP ROCKS.’
She also starred in a spin-off reality show called ‘Melason In Love.’
Cantiveros later on starred in different movies and series such as ‘Kokey at Ako’ (2010), ‘I Do’ (2010), ‘100 Days to Heaven’ (2011), ‘Sisterakas’ (2012), ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ (2013), and ‘DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away’ (2018).
She had also become prominent in hosting after her stint in ASAP. She later on did hosting jobs for other shows like ‘Matanglawin,’ ‘I Dare You,’ ‘Kris TV,’ ‘Magandang Buhay,’ and ‘Pinoy Big Brother.’
In 2015, she was the grand champion of the first season of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar.’
Currently, Cantiveros is one the main hosts of ‘Magandang Buhay.’ She is also the game master of the PIE Channel game show ‘Ur Da Boss.’
She also shared on an Instagram post about a possible guesting of her and her daughters on Bea Alonzo’s Lie Detector YouTube vlog.
