Twenty-five-year-old Kapuso Mariel Pamintuan, the newbie you might have known for her mischievous antics during the first GMA Gala Night, has landed a major role in the series ‘LUV IS: Love at First Read.’
During an interview held on June 8, Pamintuan opened up about her journey from the Sparkle Ball to her breakthrough role as Sandy in ‘LUV IS: Love at First Read.’
When asked about the backlash she received for her playful behavior, the actress responded with gratitude, stating, “Marami pong nagalit sakin, I’m still grateful na nangyari yon kasi dahil don nakuha ako dito”
Pamintuan was talking about her TikTok Live, where she made fun of the food served at the first GMA Gala Night.
She further explained that her character in the series was inspired by her mischievous persona at the ball, transforming her into a sassy and attention-seeking individual.
Mariel admitted that her mother’s influence played a significant role in her decision, sharing, “Yung mama ko may pagka-stage mother, so pagkapasok ko nung Sparkle nagka-cancer sya so naging desperate ako so talaga ang goal ko lagi ay mapansin ako. Blessing in disguise sya.”
In ‘Luv is: Love at First Read,’ Pamintuan portrays the role of a campus bully Sandy Bascon. The series airs on GMA’s pre-primetime slot from Mondays to Fridays.
