Jasmine Curtis-Smith makes teleserye comeback

On July 5, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith revealed her return to teleserye.

In a tweet, the actress announced the conclusion of the story conference for her upcoming teleserye.

Curtis-Smith’s last television appearance was in the primetime series ‘The World Between Us’ with Alden Richards on GMA Network which concluded on January 7, 2022. The actress later on acted for the film ‘In My Mother’s Skin’ (2023).

She is set to star in GMA’s ‘Can’t Let Go’ alongside Rayver Cruz. The series is a heavy family drama to be aired on GMA’s Afternoon Prime. It will also feature Martin del Rosario, Liezel Lopez, Kim De Leon, Crystal Paras, Luis Hontiveros, Billie Hankenson, and more.

Directed by ‘Apoy sa Langit’ director Laurice Guillen, the series follows the story of Cristy who returns to her family after being proclaimed dead for a long time.

In an interview by ’24 Oras,’ Curtis-Smith talked about her eagerness to portray a challenging character in the series.

“I think I’m very much ready to tackle on itong malaking project na ipinagkatiwala sa akin and alam ko pong mas malaki at mas marami ang pinagdadaanan ng mga karakter sa afternoon prime kaya talagang mapapasubo ako rito but ok lang we love a good challenge.”

Curtis-Smith also shared an Instagram post expressing her excitement about working with Direk Laurice Guillen.

“I am so looking forward to working under the helm of Direk @lauriceguillen for an upcoming @gmanetwork serye ☺️📺

So many new challenges to undergo for my character in this story, I know I need to prep more than I ever have for a serye 🙈 thank you GMA for this new project!! #JCStv”

Curtis-Smith is known for her role in Transit (2013) which earned her international praise and the Best Supporting Actress Award. Her career started when she was noticed as Anne Curtis’ sister and had an appearance on ‘It’s Showtime.’

In 2010, she signed with TV5 and starred in multiple series such as ‘Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum’ before doing films in 2012. In 2013, she had her first hosting stint in SPINNation on TV5. In 2018, she signed exclusively with GMA Network.
