The Kapamilya noontime show won over TAPE INC.’s ‘Eat Bulaga!’ and TVJ Productions’ ‘E.A.T.’
According to the media ratings firm Kantar Philippines, 14-year-old ‘It’s Showtime’ was the most watched noontime show on Monday, July 3.
According to the data it released, the Kapamilya program earned 7 percent against 6.6 percent for ‘E.A.T’ and 5.9 percent for ‘Eat Bulaga!’
Several entertainment blogs and fan pages reported these figures, which were based on the combined ratings from all the TV channels airing these TV shows.
‘It’s Showtime’ aired its pilot episode on GMA Network’s GTV last July 1. The said broadcast catapulted multiple hashtags and topics linked to the debut to Twitter Philippines’ top trending charts. The official hashtag #GNaGSaShowtime even peaked at no.1 among worldwide trending topics.
These figures are notably in contrast with the ratings from Nielsen Philippines. According to Nielsen, ‘E.A.T.’ toppled both its ABS-CBN and TAPE counterparts, generating 6.3 percent against 3.3 percent for ‘Eat Bulaga!’ and 3 percent for ‘It’s Showtime.’
As each show is poised to draw more viewers with exciting segments, the quest to dominate noontime gets more intense.
