Host Robi Domingo described the contract signing event for ‘It’s Showtime’ last June 28 as ‘the collaboration of the century.’
The event marked the end of the television war between two media giants ABS-CBN and GMA Network as ‘It’s Showtime’ begins its broadcast on GTV.
GMA Network Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Felipe Gozon expressed his gratefulness to ABS-CBN for choosing GTV to be the Kapamilya noontime show’s new home.
He also predicts that ‘It’s Showtime’ will gain higher ratings on GTV owing to the collaboration of GMA and ABS-CBN.
“Sa aking pananaw, ang pinagsamang skills, expertise, experience and resources ng ABS at GMA can be characterized as very formidable.
He further revealed that this is not the end of the collaboration between the two networks.
“Nag-uusap kame ni Mark at ni Carlo bago tayo umupo rito at sa tingin ko sa darating na panahon, mayroon pang magiging collaboration between GMA and ABS that will be mutually beneficial and rewarding for both of us,” Gozon concluded.
Prior to the transfer of ‘It’s Showtime’ to GTV, GMA and ABS-CBN have been slowly bridging the gap between them by collaborating on upcoming film projects and by co-producing the primetime series ‘Unbreak My Heart.’
