Following the end of the agreement on the broadcast of ‘It’s Showtime’ on TV5, the Kapamilya noontime show had found a new home in GMA Network’s GTV.
As TV5 chose to accommodate TVJ and the Legit Dabarkads for the noontime slot, their offer of an afternoon slot for ‘It’s Showtime’ was respectfully declined by ABS-CBN.
When asked about his thoughts on this last June 27, former Manila mayor and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ host Isko Moreno said that this would bring more options for the viewers.
“I’m happy for our people, why? Dami nilang option ngayon. Kumbaga sa hotel, buffet!,” he said in an exclusive interview by GMANetwork.com.
Moreno also said that this will make way for a better quality of entertainment for the viewers as it encourages a healthy competition among shows.
“Marami ng option ang tao and competition brings the best out of everybody. So, if everyone is doing their best so masaya ako para sa mga kababayan natin,” he added.
Moreno continued, “Kasi ang mapapanood nila is mga the best. It’s a healthy competition and again and again in our own little way, ‘Eat Bulaga!’ [and] GMA Kapuso, we’ll do our best. Malaking bagay din naman ‘yung suporta ng GMA-7, napakalaking bagay.”
In conclusion, he wished everyone good luck and expresses his joy for being a part of better noontime entertainment.
Moreno explained, “I wish everyone good luck. Uulitin ko there’s no monopoly of noontime show, but at the end of the day, kapakinabangan ba ng tao kapag gumaganda ang mga television shows sa free TV? If the answer is affirmative, then, I’m happy and humbled to have that kind of opportunity to offer good entertainment in noontime.”
The battle of noontime shows already started happening last July 1. ‘It’s Showtime’ made its debut broadcast on GTV while the TVJ and the Legit Dabarkads show on TV5 was already named ‘E.A.T.’
