“Without any fear of contradiction, TV war is finally over,” declared GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon on June 28, as GMA Network and ABS-CBN joined forces once again to bring the popular noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ to GTV.
The Kapamilya-produced noontime show had its pilot broadcast on the Kapuso channel last July 1.
This significant collaboration marks a milestone in the media industry, signaling a new era of cooperation between the two media giants.
The partnership between GMA Network and ABS-CBN Corporation began in April 2022 when they first collaborated in airing Star Cinema movies on GMA Network’s local channels. This initial cooperation paved the way for more joint projects, including the production of ‘Unbreak My Heart’ with Viu Philippines and several co-produced movies currently in the works.
Atty. Gozon’s statement on the end of the “TV war” reflects a new spirit of unity and cooperation within the industry. He emphasized that this collaboration will benefit not only the viewers but also both ABS-CBN and GMA Network. By combining their skills, expertise, experience, and resources, the two networks have become a formidable force in the media landscape.
Expressing his gratitude, Atty. Gozon thanked the ABS-CBN executives for choosing GTV as the new home for ‘It’s Showtime.’ He acknowledged the significance of this move and highlighted the positive outcome that can be achieved when ABS-CBN and GMA join forces.
The premiere episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV was a momentous occasion that brought together the biggest stars from both ABS-CBN and GMA Network. The show opened with an all-star number featuring the hosts of ‘It’s Showtime’ alongside Kapamilya and Kapuso stars.
The successful collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA Network generated buzz and excitement among fans, solidifying further the notion that the era of the TV war is truly over.
