After dominating the noontime ratings race with its successful launch on TV5, TVJ’s ‘E.A.T.’ continued to reign as the leader of noontime programming.
However, recent rating reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey indicate a rapid decline in the noontime show ratings.
On its debut on Saturday, July 1, ‘E.A.T.’ achieved a rating of 8.4 percent, securing the fifth spot on the overall rating chart. It was followed by ‘It’s Showtime’ with a combined rating of 4.0 percent, and a considerable distance away was TAPE Inc.’s ‘Eat Bulaga!’ which obtained a rating of 2.6 percent.
By Monday, July 3, ‘E.A.T.’ dropped to 6.3 percent, a decrease of 2.1 percent from its initial ratings on Saturday. It slipped to the ninth position on the leaderboard. ‘It’s Showtime’ went lower by 1 percent with its 3.0 percent, while ‘Eat Bulaga!’ emerged as the winner, increasing by 0.7 percent with its 3.3 percent.
On Tuesday, ‘E.A.T.’ suffered another decline, plummeting by 1.3 percent with 5.0 percent and falling to the tenth spot on the ratings board. In contrast, ‘It’s Showtime’ rose by 0.1 percent with its 3.1 percent, and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ maintained its 3.3 percent rating.
The hype surrounding TVJ’s transfer seems to be fading, not only in terms of TV ratings but also in terms of online viewership.
From an initial peak of more than 300K live concurrent viewers during its launch, E.A.T.’s average viewership on TV5’s YouTube channel dropped to over 120K on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, ‘It’s Showtime’ has maintained its solid online audience, averaging more than 97K during the same period on Kapamilya Online Live.
Can TVJ reverse E.A.T.’s downward rating trend? Or will they continue to decline and potentially surrender their throne to either ‘It’s Showtime’ or ‘Eat Bulaga!’?
