On June 26, Kapuso host Drew Arellano admitted that he feels guilty doing his travel show.
At the media conference for the 10th anniversary special of ‘Biyahe ni Drew,’ a reporter asked Arellano if he had guilt feelings whenever he did his travel show. Arellano responded with his kids in mind.
“Absolutely, absolutely!”
He then shared his hopes of traveling with his kids when they were old enough to join him.
“Actually, ‘yung guilt feeling na ‘yan parating pinaparamdam sa akin ng asawa ko ‘yan, kasi lalo na kapag kinukwento ko pagkatapos ng biyahe. But eventually, and hopefully, it would be possible logistically, and whatever, but hopefully, eventually kapag matatanda na ‘yung– lalaki na ‘yung mga anak ko hindi na kailangan na alagaan sila, gusto ko sumama sila sa biyahe.”
Arellano also described traveling as the ‘best education,’ which is what he wanted for his children.
“Kasi there nothing like– ako for me, traveling is the best education, and that’s what I want for them to experience. Para hindi rin sila mainggit sa mga kwento ko from my biyahe. So hopefully, that happens sooner than later.”
Aside from traveling with his family, he also talked about how he balances doing his Kapuso shows and attending to his wife and kids.
“A lot of people think that my week [is] really loaded with work. It’s actually not. So currently, I do my biyahe, Biyahe ni Drew shoots, Wednesday-Thursday, and I do ‘Aha!’ either Tuesday or Friday, which is another GMA show.
“And most days, I’m home, pretty much. Iya does Chika Minute weeknights, so she needs to leave lang around 5:40 PM weeknights, so she comes home eight-ish. So we have– we’re so lucky to be put in that position wherein we have a lot of quality time with the kids and with each other.”
Arellano celebrates the 10th anniversary of ‘Biyahe ni Drew‘ with his wife Iya Villania-Arellano in South Korea.
The couple explores travel destinations in South Korea, such as the popular BTS bus stop and a film location of a hit K-drama. The Kapuso couple would also feature the culture and food while showing wonders and hidden gems in the country.
Catch ‘Biyahe ni Drew’ with its back-to-back specials airing this July 2 and July 9 on GTV at 8:15 PM. Global Pinoys can watch it via the GMA International channel, GMA Life TV.
