Veteran host Cristy Fermin recently commended Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda for his balanced approach in handling the recent issue involving Awra Briguela.
In the July 7 episode of ‘Cristy Fer Minute,’ Fermin praised Vice Ganda for not condoning Briguela’s mistake while still providing support. Fermin revealed that it was the assistant of Ion Perez, Vice Ganda’s husband, who picked up Briguela. Though Vice did not defend Briguela, he did not abandon the teen star.
According to Fermin, Vice’s actions were commendable. He did not tolerate Briguela’s wrongdoing but he assisted in the controversial celebrity’s bail.
The issue surrounding Briguela started on July 2 when he was accused of sexual harassment by the complainant Mark Ravana. Initially, Briguela was seen as a hero based on his friend’s testimony, stating that they were the ones who were sexually harassed.
The online world rallied behind Briguela, demanding justice and her freedom. However, when a CCTV footage was released, it became clear that Briguela instigated the incident.
In a recent episode of #RaffyTulfoInAction, the bar manager referred to as ‘Lei’ revealed that they never witnessed any of Mark’s friends harassing any of Awra’s friends. Tulfo thanked the management for shedding light on the incident but mentioned that they were unable to secure an interview with Briguela’s camp.
“Tinatawagan po namin yung kampo ni Awra pero di namin sila napapayag na mag-pa-interview,” Tulfo said.
In addition, a bouncer at the club named Onin shared his account. According to Onin, Briguela pushed Mark because the latter refused to remove his clothes entirely. Another bouncer then instructed Mark to put his shirt back on. As Mark and his friends descended the stairs, an angry Briguela blocked the exit.
Despite the controversy, Briguela was released on bail for PHP 6,000 on July 1, Saturday night. While Vice did not take Briguela’s side and refused to condone her actions, he did not abandon her either. Vice’s support for Briguela drew admiration online.
