Earlier this year, Lee underwent a major leg surgery and documented her recovery on social media. She disclosed that an old leg injury had been triggered during an intense dance practice, resulting in the need to relearn walking. Despite these setbacks, she remained resilient and cherished the support and love from her family, as evident in the touching photos she shared.
Lee’s marriage to Canadian businessman Bruce Rockowitz in 2011 and the rumors of their separation remained largely unaddressed by the singer.
In a 2014 interview with The Straits Times, Lee expressed her desire to be remembered as an artist who brought joy and entertainment to people. Growing up in a single-parent household, she credited her widowed mother for instilling strength and independence within her.
The passing of Coco Lee marks the end of an era for the music industry, leaving behind a remarkable legacy as a talented performer and an inspiration to many.
