Actress Claudine Barretto thanked former sexy star Katrina Paula for telling the truth. This came after Paula denied, in a July 12 interview with Cristy Fermin, that Sabrina M. and Rico Yan had once been in a secret relationship. The revelation of the romantic affair came from Sabrina M. herself.
In the interview, Fermin asked, “Nagkaroon ba ng relasyon ang namayapang si Rico Yan at si Sabrina M. sa pagkakaalam mo bilang saksi?”
“Nay, wala. Walang relasyon na naganap sa kanila. Baka nagkatikiman sila, pero ‘yung relasyon, hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling,” Paula answered.
On the same day, Barretto took to her Instagram account to express her gratitude and appreciation of Paula for clearing up Rico Yan’s name.
“Appreciation post. I want to thank @realkatrinapaula for telling the TRUTH!”
“Divine intervention gina ni God at Rico. I really found a new friend/sister. Thank you so much in behalf ng #rycbforever. I’m happy that this is a start of a new friendship & sisterhood sobra sobrang SALAMAT for clearing the names of both RICO.”
Barretto also urged her fans to show support for Paula by following her on Instagram and expressing their gratitude to her for coming forward.
“Palanggas pls follow Katrina Paula sa IG @realkatrinapaula pasalamat tayo sa kay Katrina. Pls thank her for standing up for Rico’s name pati ako. My Palanggas mag pasalamat tayo.” Barretto ended.
The heartfelt post received positive reactions from fans, with one expressing happiness for Barretto and Rico Yan. Barretto replied with gratitude and appreciation for the support she has received. She also reiterated the importance of acknowledging Paula’s courage and truthfulness, highlighting that the fabricated stories were no longer affecting her name.

Meanwhile, on July 11, Ogie Diaz revealed on his YouTube channel that Barretto plans to sue Sabrina M. for claiming to be the secret girlfriend of the late Rico Yan.
