On July 9, talk show host Boy Abunda discussed how he sees actress Bea Alonzo building her own talent management house in the future.
At the media event for ‘Battle of the Judges,’ Abunda remarked that he would not be surprised to see Alonzo taking up the mantle of a talent manager after seeing the actress mentor her contestants in the upcoming Kapuso show.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if this girl, you know, builds a management house in the future, totoo ‘yan B.”
Alonzo jokingly responded she would face financial risks if she ever became a manager.
“Pasasakitin ko ‘yung ulo ko. Baka Tito Boy, baka maghirap ako kapag ‘yun ang nangyari, ibibigay ko na lang lahat doon sa mga ano.”
Abunda also agreed with the assessment that Alonzo could be the next Maja Salvador, who recently founded the Crown Artist Management with her beau Rambo Nuñez.
He also highlighted Alonzo’s people skills as a plus factor for the actress’s possible talent manager career.
“Pero para lang doon sa mga nangangarap mag-manage, importante ‘yun. You know, talent is necessary, network is necessary, pero ‘yung ginagawa ni Bea, is a way of– ibang klase.”
Alonzo replied that she would just apply to GMA Network’s Sparkle GMA Artist Center as a talent manager instead of establishing her own company.
“Pero feeling ko, hindi na lang ako magtatayo ng sarili kong kumpanya, mag-aapply na lang ako kay Ma’am sa Sparkle. Magmamanage na lang ako sa Sparkle.”
As for ‘Battle of the Judges,’ the new Kapuso reality talent competition features Abunda and Alonzo as judges and mentors to the 24 contestants vying for their place as the ultimate winner.
The other half of the judging panel includes the comedian Jose Manalo and GMA7 Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes.
Aside from the banter-packed judges, Asia’s Multimedia Star and Kapuso actor Alden Richards will host the reality TV competition.
‘Battle of the Judges’ premieres on GMA Network on July 15 every Saturday.
