To ensure an unforgettable first day on GTV Channel, “It’s Showtime!” pulled out all the stops and treated viewers to a series of delightful surprises.
On that Saturday, the Kapamilya noontime show invited Kapuso leading ladies Barbie Forteza and Sanya Lopez to join them in celebrating their debut on the GMA-owned channel.
Forteza teamed up with mainstay host Kim Chiu, as well as ABS-CBN prime stars Belle Mariano and Alexa Ilacad, for an electrifying dance performance during the show’s opening production.

Both Kapuso stars enthusiastically greeted the hosts and the madlang people with the iconic “What’s up, madlang people?” catchphrase, much to everyone’s delight. Forteza and Lopez expressed their excitement in finally being able to utter those words, considering that GMA has its own noontime program.
The debut of “Showtime” on GTV also featured other GMA artists, including Rodjun and Rayver Cruz, the latter being a former ABS-CBN star. Singers Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista graced the show as invited judges for “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”
Starting from July 1, “It’s Showtime!” found a new home on GTV, in addition to its previous platforms such as Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
