The rumors surrounding the alleged disagreement between Kapuso stars Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo have finally been addressed. While Richards denied any issues, Alonzo admitted to some misunderstandings.
During a media conference for the upcoming GMA show ‘Battle of the Judges’ on July 9, Alonzo confirmed the rumors when asked by a reporter. When told about the rumors that she and Richards were not okay, she did not deny it and acknowledged that they had some misunderstandings.
“Feeling ko sa totoo lang in any working relationship naman, lalo na bago lang ako sa GMA, iba ‘yong background ko, iba ‘yong background niya, hindi mo maiiwasan ‘yong may hindi kayo mapagkakaintindihan.
“If I’m going to be honest about it, hindi naman kami palaging completely okay [with Richards], ‘di ba? I mean amplastik ko kasing sabihin ‘yon, pero we’re both mature people.
However, Richards denied the issue and stated, “Hinahanapan talaga ng isyu lately kasi nga siguro wala talagang mapag-usapan, pero never po kaming hindi naging okay, ‘yon po ang alam ko.”
The rumors initially circulated in April after their film adaptation of ‘A Moment to Remember’ was put on hold. Alonzo cited her full schedule and her contract with GMA Network as the reasons for not pursuing the project.
Blind items suggested that two well-known personalities were having issues working together. Alonzo clarified that her unavailability was the main reason for not proceeding with the project. As of this writing, there are unconfirmed reports that actress Julia Barretto will take over Alonzo’s role.
When asked about Barretto replacing her, Alonzo stated that she does not attach any malicious meaning to it, saying, “Alam mo kung anong rason, kung sinadya man o hindi [na si Julia Barretto ang ipapalit sa’kin], wala na ako doon kasi wala na ako sa proyekto, so, nasa sakanila na ‘yon,”
Alonzo and Richards are both stars of the GMA show ‘Battle of the Judges,’ where Alonzo serves as a judge alongside Boy Abunda, Jose Manalo, and Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes with Richards as the host. The show starts airing on July 15.
